Weekly Weigh-In: Only .2 pounds lost

2011 Start: 327 lbs. / 2012 Start: 225.0 lbs.
Last week: 225.0 lbs.
This week: 224.8 lbs.
Change: -0.2 lbs.
Total Change: -102.2 lbs / 2012 Change: -0.2

Waist: 41.5 in.
Body Fat: –%

I should get something this week in which to measure body fat percentage, so we will get that going.  I’m not 100% confident in how I’m measuring my waist size since I got it at 41.5 yet I wear 36 waist in pants.  No matter.

I wish I was down a little bit further than last week’s weigh-in, but it was a rough week eating & exercising so in that regard I’m glad to have gotten back down to 225.  After weighing in New Year’s Day I drove down to Anaheim and met the family at Disneyland.  We had dinner at Steakhouse 55 and there was some definite indulging going on.  The mushrooms there are amazing.  Monday was the Rose Bowl (yay Ducks!) and my Ducks finally won a BCS game.  Thank you football gods, because otherwise that would have been a bad night.  As it was, we ate dinner at ESPN Zone (yummy!) and though I got a sandwich, I couldn’t pass up on the cheesy bacon fries.  Mmmm.  I went out a couple more times this week and couldn’t pass on having the fries, though otherwise went with healthy options.  And I was fairly sick, so exercise was difficult to get.  But I did force myself to walk and follow some Jillian Michaels workouts, so it was all good.

Metabolism must slow down in the cold.  I’ll look into that.  Anyhow, here’s to having a good week!

Weekly Weigh-In: .4 pounds lost

At the Firm Christmas Party

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 234.8 lbs.
This week: 234.4 lbs.
Change: -0.4 lbs.
Total Change: -92.6 lbs

After the delicious food I’ve eaten two nights in a row, first at the Aunt’s Christmas Party and then at the Firm Christmas Party, I’m just happy to be back in the 234s.  This morning’s walk is thanks to that.  I knew that after two Christmas parties and a week of not finals stress I probably wasn’t going to have a good weigh-in this week.  So I’m happy just to have maintained last week’s position.  I should be able to have a good week this week as I’m heading back to California on Wednesday and the change of scenery should give me another boost, hopefully.

Weekly Weigh-In: Negligible

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 246.2 lbs.
This week: 246.4 lbs.
Change: +.2 lbs.
Total Change: -80.6 lbs

I’m a little upset at myself. This is not exactly how I wanted to start my ending march to 100 pounds that I sort of kicked off last week.  This week, however, was a bad one school-wise, so I can’t say I’m too surprised I ended up with a gain (even a negligible one).  I did go to bed last night at 251, so the fact that I was able to work it down into the 246-range this morning is definitely a huge plus.

Tuesday I had a huge paper due, and since I was stressing about finishing it and not eating much, I dropped all the way to 245 Tuesday morning.  I remedied that by doing a little stress-eating Wednesday.  I worked that off, but then gorged myself on chips and dip last night while watching the Ducks game (yeah Ducks!).  No biggie since I worked it back down this morning.  I do need to buckle down and get back on track to walking everyday (stress of the paper got me off schedule) and throwing more running in.  We got the Holiday eating season coming up, and I must say I’m a little nervous at how I’m going to stay on track with Thanksgiving and Christmas eating on the horizon before I reach my goal.

I ran this morning for about a mile and a half.  I ran for a mile, then walked for about half, and then ran for about half up a somewhat steep hill.  Running uphill definitely sucked hardcore, but I think it worked some new muscles which is always a good thing.  Then I walked the remaining mile or mile and a half back.  It was a good morning workout!  Even if I did end up gaining, it feels good to have started the day with a good workout.

Weigh-In Sunday

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 296.4 lbs.
This week:  295.8 lbs.
Change: -0.6 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -31.2 lbs.

I walked 2.7 miles this morning!  My usual walk is about a mile and a half, but this morning I was feeling a little bit more in me and decided to go the long route.  It definitely felt good, and I’m glad it didn’t rain.

Coming in at a loss this week, even though it’s small, is a big deal.  As I said Friday, despite eating well and getting in my regular walks, stress has been eating at me all week, keeping me at a safe maintain.  I almost “weighed-in” yesterday.  I was hovering in the 295s, and I knew I was probably going to eat out last night.  However, I decided that just being at 295 yesterday was good enough for me and that if I had a bad weigh-in today I knew I could work it off.  I have to say that is definitely a new feeling for me.  I’ve never had that sort of confidence in my exercise routine before.

Eating out last night was good, too.  We had pizza, which is hard to do healthy, and I’m not saying we did but it was healthier.  The place served “authentic” neopolitan pizzas, so they were thin crust and pretty small.  I just had some leftovers for breakfast; pretty damn tasty!  I almost succeeded and not overeating by stopping at four slices (the slices are pretty small), but it was so good I had to have a couple more!

Weightwatchers has been giving me a hard time for losing weight too fast.  They say averaging more than two pounds per week over a four week period is too much.  I personally think that I’m at a size where it’s probably not too unhealthy for me to be averaging more than that at the moment, but losing only half a pound did get them to stop warning me about the dangers of overdoing it.  And I’m cool with that.
