Cowabunga! Wowza. Big loss this week. I never know why I sometimes lose big and why I sometimes gain or lose small.  I didn’t really do anything different eating-wise or exercise-wise than I have in the past. In fact, I didn’t get to the gym that much since Spring Break has difficult hours, and I couldn’t walk as much thanks to the neverending rain. I will say that the times that I lose big tend tend to be times that I’m happiest, and I am pretty happy right now with how things are going in my life. I’m not sure if it’s a cause or effect, but there seems like there might be a correlation.

It’s hard to complain when I’ve had such a good week, but I really feel like this body fat percentage measurement is fairly inaccurate and inconsistent. It seems to be good when I think it should be bad and vice versa. Oh well. It serves some sort of purpose I guess.

Well, here’s hoping next week is just as good!

Weekly Weigh-in: Down 3.8 pounds

2011 Start: 327 lbs. / 2012 Start: 225.0 lbs.
Last week: 225.6 lbs.
This week: 221.8 lbs.
Change: -3.8 lbs.
Total Change: -105.2 lbs / 2012 Change: -3.2

Waist: 40.5 in. / Change: -1 in. / Total Change: -1 in.
Body Fat: 27.9% / Change: +2.8% / Total Change: +2.6%

Close to cracking under 220!  We are officially back on track.  This week was good because I was a lot stricter on eating than normal.  I didn’t get out to the gym as much, but I didn’t let myself snack as much.  Which is good, because I’m going to be snacking away today whilst watching the Superbowl.  I’m not a huge fan of the NFL (maybe that will change when LA gets a team), but I do enjoy watching the Superbowl.  Even, when like today, I couldn’t care less who actually wins.  I wouldn’t mind watching Tom Brady lose, though, so if I have to root for a team it’s be the Giants.  Really, I just want to watch a good game with some awesome commercials.

I’m still not to sure about the body fat % measurement.  Oh well, as long as it stays similar we’ll continue to go with it.

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 234.4 lbs.
This week: 227.6 lbs.
Change: -6.8 lbs.
Total Change: -99.4 lbs

I’d post about how close I am, but I am so hung over right now that I just don’t have it in me.  Yay me though.

Weekly Weigh-In: 6.2 pounds lost!

Happy dance!

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 242.6 lbs.
This week: 236.4 lbs.
Change: -6.2 lbs.
Total Change: -90.6 lbs

Wow, just freaking wow! And just like that I am back in this game!

I had a good week, despite going out. I chose wisely on the alcohol and eating fronts, I didn’t snack, and I enjoyed eating without overindulging.  All in all, the keys to a successful week on the eating front.  I also, of course, was able to exercise every day which always helps.  I got in a good run or walk every morning, and I put in a herculean effort on the Turkey Trot.  My final time was 38:08.

I was starting to think I was going to be stuck in the 240s, so I’m really glad to have moved out of them!  Onward to 100 pounds lost.  I should be able to make my goal on time now, as long as I don’t get too stressed in the coming onslaught of papers and finals.

Weekly Weigh-In: 4.4 pounds lost! What?!?

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 254.0 lbs.
This week: 249.6 lbs.
Change: -4.4 lbs.
Total Change: -77.4 lbs

Wow, that’s a lot. I had a big day at the gym yesterday. I played squash for the first time EVER and sucked miserably at it, but it was tons of fun. Plus it was definitely an intense workout (by my standards anyways). Then I used the AMT (or is it ATM?) machine for the first time also. I liked it. I could alternate between stepping and running on it which I thought was pretty cool. Once the weather goes south my roommate wants to teach me weightlifting (or more accurately: I want to learn about weightlifting and he wants someone to lift weights with him at the gym!). I’ve also been slowly adding running to my routine, so it’s been a busy time for my little exercise regimen. Plus, me and my aunt have been adding more to our walking route recently, so yeah. Doing good!

Two more things. First, I’m entering my tenth month, which means I’m about 3/4 through my goal timewise. I also broke through 3/4 through goalwise today also which is very cool. I did a little review post for quarter and halfway through, so I plan on churning a post out with my thoughts so far in the next few days. Second, I donated a crapload of old clothes to the Good Will yesterday. I took out all my 3XL shirts and probably half my 2XL shirts. I threw out pretty much all my pants except for 2 pairs I just bought and the next 2 smallest pairs as backups. I also threw out all my shorts except for two, all my dress pants (except for suit pants which I can get tailored) and lots of my dress shirts. The total damage: three trash bags and one medium-sized box (pictured above). The funny thing is that a lot of that stuff (at least the 2XL stuff) was shirts that I hid in drawers or the back closet a year ago because they were too small. Now I’m getting rid of them because they’re too big! That’s pretty awesome.

Weekly Weigh-In: Lost 3.8 lbs.

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 282.4 lbs.
This week:  278.6 lbs.
Change: -3.8 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -48.4 lbs.

And so the losing continues. A little slowdown in the pace, but not too much. Weightwatchers is still going to yell at me. Now I’m within spitting distance of having lost 50 lbs.!!! That’s halfway through my goal, and we’re just starting the sixth month. So I’m just a tad bit ahead of schedule. I think I can manage that.

Sunday Weigh-In

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 287.0 lbs.
This week:  282.4 lbs.
Change: -4.6 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -44.6 lbs.

California agrees with my weight loss plan. I guess we’ll just have to see how long I can keep this up for. 🙂

I’m not sure why I’ve lost so much since getting to California. I’m pretty much doing the same thing. Though I’ve been more diligent in making sure I walk each day, and I have walked more than once in a day several times.  I’m pretty much keeping to the same eating plan.  My office is on the third floor so maybe all the climbing up and down stairs each day has helped out.  Or maybe my body hasn’t gotten used to the new walking paths so it’s like a new experience for it.  I did also go hiking yesterday which kind of kicked my ass in parts so maybe that’s it.  Who knows, but hopefully I can keep it up!

My summer goal is to break the 250s. I think this is a little bit ahead of my goal, and I’m not sure if I will get there.  I should at least get close though.  Let’s see what happens.
