Weekly Weigh-In: Sign of the devil?

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 261.2 lbs.
This week: 260.4 lbs.
Change: -0.8 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -66.6 lbs

I wonder if I should be worried that my total weight loss is 66.6 (aka pretty close to the sign of the devil). It’s a good thing I’m not too superstitious.

I really thought I was going to break into the 250s this week.  It was looking like I was heading towards it all week and I had some good weigh-ins during the week that seemed to point in that direction.  However, it’s always about what happened last and last night my beloved Ducks dropped their first game to LSU.  Which has nothing to do with my weight loss except for the fact that I ate a bunch of snacks and went out for frozen yogurt afterwards.  Which I thought I had walked off but apparently not.

My buddy Greg pointed out to me in last week’s weigh-in that I need to switch it up a little bit to start getting better results again.  Going to the gym is a little difficult because it’s still on summer schedule until the undergrads get back, and the times I tend to go are during times they’re closed at the moment.  I did get a yoga starter kit for my birthday (thanks Aila!) which I got out once already and I want to figure out how to work into my daily routine.  I just have to make it a habit like I’ve done with walking.

Weekly Weigh-In: 1.4 pounds lost

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 262.6 lbs.
This week: 261.2 lbs.
Change: -1.4 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -65.8 lbs

I forgot to mention last weigh-in that I reached 29 pounds lost total from May 15th, my last Eugene weigh-in before leaving for the summer, to last week, my first weigh-in back.  I was just shy of 30 pounds lost for the summer, and I’m still reaching for the 250s which was my summer goal.  Not quite there, but close!  My next goal is to reach the 240s before September 30th (when I leave for my Mexico cruise!).  I’m not sure if that’s going to be possible with just a month to go, but I’m going to try.

I feel like I’ve been floundering in the 260s forever now.  I’m not sure what I can do to kickstart back to some bigger loss weeks rather than fighting for a pound here and there.  Last week I said I wasn’t worrying about what appeared to be a slowdown.  Now I’m starting to worry.  Let’s see what next week brings!

Back in Oregon Weigh-In: .8 pounds lost

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 263.4 lbs.
This week: 262.6 lbs.
Change: -0.8 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -64.4 lbs.

And I’m back in Eugene.  Still losing, but I’ve slowed down a bit these last couple weeks.  I’m not too worried.  This was a transition week, meaning I didn’t get much walking in, and I didn’t eat as well as I could have.  Going forward should be much better.

Last California Weigh-In: 1.2 pounds lost

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 264.6 lbs.
This week:  263.4 lbs.
Change: -1.2 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -63.6 lbs.

It’s a little slow moving in the 260s apparently.  I actually considered weighing in yesterday morning because I knew I’d be doing a few eating-intensive activities, but I figured I shouldn’t try to manipulate the weigh-in so blatantly… 🙂  I didn’t do too bad eating-wise, but I did have one more beer than I meant to.  But hey, what’s the point if you can’t have an extra beer every now and then!

This is my last weigh-in in California.  Let me pause to give a special shout out to all my Mercury buddies that read this blog. Thanks!  It’s been a fun a summer chilling in sunny SoCal.  And hey, here’s a shout to all my law school buddies that read the blog.  Thanks!  It’ll be good to see you all again and catch up on your summers when I get back.

Alright, I have lots of packing to do until I take off for Oregon.  Until next time!

Weekly Weigh-In: Lost 2.4 pounds!

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 267.0 lbs.
This week:  264.6 lbs.
Change: -2.4 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -62.4 lbs.

Yay! Still losing.  This week was helped by the fact that I didn’t go out as much, and when I did I either worked it off or made smart eating choices.  It was also my last week of work at the Ventura County DA’s office, which was sad.  It’s sort of amazing how fast you can become a part of the office and then bam, you’re off again.

Time sure has been flying by this summer.  Almost as fast as the pounds have been falling off.  My last Eugene weigh-in was May 15 at 291.6 pounds.  So I’ve lost 27 pounds this summer so far and just as I’m within spitting distance of reaching the 250s, I’m very close to reaching 30 pounds lost on the summer so far.

Weekly Weigh-In: 2.8 pounds lost!

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 269.8 lbs.
This week:  267.0 lbs.
Change: -2.8 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -60.0 lbs.

And just like that I’ve reached 60 lbs. lost on the year so far!  As expected, I’m back on track after last week’s little bump.  I have 2-3 weigh-ins until I’m back in Eugene.  Technically it’s 3, but one of them I’ll be on the move so I’ll probably have to do that one in Eugene even though it will contain data from a week in California.  My 250s goal is doable, but I’ll likely come up short.  No worries, though.  At the beginning of the summer I really thought that I would be in the mid to late 260s by the time I went back, so just being within spitting distance of the 250s would be pretty damn good.

I had a pretty good week.  I walked almost every day.  I missed Thursday night because we were celebrating my sister’s last night in Moorpark (she’s moving to Salinas for a job!) followed by trying to squeeze her life’s possession into a small U-Haul trailer.  We didn’t succeed but we got the necessaries and she’ll just have to come back and get the rest at some other time.  I missed Friday night because I was out drinking.  Fun times!  I got in two walks yesterday so it all worked out.

It’s interesting that I can still have such a good week when I’ve gone out a few times.  When I started this going out always used to throw me back.  Now, because I’m committed to walking as much as I can, it’s not so bad.  Sure, I’d probably lose more without going out, but going out is good for my emotional well-being which is another important consideration.  As long as I stay active and eat smart going out won’t push me too far back.

Weekly Weigh-In: D’oh! Gained 1.2 pounds

Start: 327 lbs.
Last week: 268.6 lbs.
This week:  269.8 lbs.
Change: +1.2 lbs. lbs.
Total Change: -57.2 lbs.

Yes, I gained this week.  But if you knew how hung over I was right now you’d be impressed that I didn’t gain more.  I probably could have mitigated this gain by walking this morning, but some things just aren’t in the cards.
