Happy S.A.D.!!! :)

Some call it Valentine’s Day, others know it as Singles Awareness Day (or S.A.D.).  Either way, I hope you’re enjoying the day!  It may be tailor-made for Hallmark, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still all have a little fun.

Tomorrow

I’m going away to Seattle for the weekend, so I’ll be weighing in tomorrow. You’re on notice.

A little heads up

I’ll be in Portland this weekend for a class, so I won’t be weighing in until Monday morning.  Also, I figured out how to more accurately measure body fat percentage with my scale so no more 40-50% readings!  I am going to remove the one from last week so that the measurements aren’t all screwy.

Site maintenance

I updated the About page and renovated the Photos section.  I also added the before/after image to the sidebar.  I might continue to tweak things a little, but those were the major changes I wanted to do for the new year.  I’ve been thinking about revamping the about page, but for now I think I’m just going to leave it as is.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIS!

Liss at Disneyland

Today, my sister turns some age we won’t mention because it makes me look old. Haha, just kidding, but seriously.

She hasn’t had much time to blog recently given her new job, but go check it out and maybe leave a birthday message in the comments! Or, if you have twitter, you can tweet her a birthday message to @melissasmith78. Either way, she’s pretty cool, so go wish her a happy birthday!

She’s been a good sister throughout the years, so I guess she deserves some birthday love.  And since I told everyone else to do so… HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISS!

Feel free to pass this blog around

I didn’t start this to inspire people; I started this to get healthy, but I recognize that I have inspired some people. While I believe most people that follow this blog are people I know in real life, I do not mind if others read my words here. Feel free to pass around this link to others you know if you think they might be interested. I’m not asking you to do so, but some people have asked if it’s okay and I just wanted to make it clear that I do not mind. Quite the opposite, actually!

Some links on weight loss

I’m always on the search for new weight loss blogs or articles/posts on weight loss.  I’m especially interested in what other guys have to say because usually I can relate. Here’s a couple blogs I’ve discovered recently and have added to my google reader feeds:

I don’t always agree with everything they say, but a lot of their observations and insights are pretty on-par with my own.

Also, I rediscovered a post from last year by one of my favorite authors (and bloggers) John Scalzi.  He dropped 20 pounds last year and talked about it in a post here. He talks about it very matter-of-factly which I find refreshing.
